EXPANDING OUR PERCEPTION TO THE PLEASURE DIMENSION, THE USE OF SEX MAGICK AS AN EVOLUTIONARY MEDICINE

ANASTASIA OCEANO

1 CONSCIOUSNESS EXPANSION

1.1 Energetic Orgasms

Pleasure is a revolution—a way of unlocking new dimensions of being, expanding beyond the limits of the mind. The body knows survival, but the deep, intuitive wisdom of the pussy knows how to thrive, how to bring us back to the truth of our power. In the vibration of orgasm, we touch something cosmic, something beyond the realm of the logical, stepping into a space where pleasure becomes a portal to expanded consciousness.

Energetic orgasms, unlike the typical climax, take us deeper. It is not just a fleeting moment of pleasure, but an activation of subtler energy systems that open the pleasure pathways with intention. It's meditative, transformative—some say it's like "tripping" without substances. In this state, you align with the spirit of each dimension, drawing support from realms inaccessible in our daily reality, and manifesting what our bodies know but our minds have forgotten: the codes of ecstatic birth.

When the pussy is alive with pleasure, we create from the astral, birthing emotions, ideas, and actions into this physical world with ease, grace, and joy. This is not about pushing or striving; it’s about letting the abundance of pleasure sustain and energise us. Through pleasure, we remember our divinity, reconnect to our original frequency, and let our hearts, unburdened by fear or doubt, radiate in communion with the universe.

As we expand our consciousness through pleasure, the trivialities of the physical plane fall away. We surrender to the divine knowing within us, stepping into a state of being that others might perceive as courage, magnetism, or radiance—but really, it is just freedom. In this state, luck follows you, because you are a vessel of openness and receptivity to pleasure, and where pleasure flows, blessings grow.

When we move in the world charged with this energy, every cell, every atom sings with life, and we remember our deep interconnection with all beings, with the Earth, with the stars. This is oneness. This is the liberation of self from the confines of ego, a reunion with love itself. When you climax in an energetic orgasm, the body speaks a new language. It is common for new practitioners to involuntarily shout "I love you" as they climax, as their flow of love can no longer be confined by the rules of their subservience.

1.2 The History of Sex Magick

The origins of spiritual sexual healing can be traced back to ancient civilizations where sexuality was revered as a powerful, divine force. One of the earliest known traditions that embraced spiritual sexual healing was in ancient Mesopotamia and Sumer, where sexuality was closely tied to the worship of fertility gods and goddesses, such as Ishtar and Inanna, respectively. Temples dedicated to these deities featured sacred prostitution, where priestesses, known as "sacred women," would engage in ritual sexual practices as these sacred rites would channel divine energy, promoting fertility, well-being, and connection to the gods.

In ancient Egypt, spiritual texts, such as the Pyramid Texts and the Book of the Dead, contain references to sexual energy as a vital force for spiritual renewal and protection in the afterlife.

The spiritual traditions of Tantra (from India) and Taoism (from China) are two of the most well-known teaching systems that have explicitly linked sexuality with spiritual growth. Both traditions view sexual energy as sacred and transformative, teaching that it can be harnessed to achieve higher states of consciousness.

Tantra sees the physical body and its sensual experiences as integral to achieving spiritual enlightenment. Particularly, there is Tantric belief that sexual union, when practised with intention and mindfulness, can lead to the dissolution of the ego, the merging of the self with the divine, and the experience of oneness. Tantric teachings include a variety of practices, such as asanas, pranayama, and ritualised sexual practices designed to channel sexual energy (often referred to as kundalini energy) through the body's energy centres (chakras).

Taoism views sexual energy as a vital life force (referred to as Qi). Taoist sexual practices involve techniques for conserving, refining, and circulating sexual energy throughout the body to promote physical and spiritual wellbeing. Taoist teachings suggest that sexual energy, when harnessed properly, can lead to greater physical health, emotional balance, and even spiritual immortality.

Many indigenous and shamanic traditions recognise the spiritual and healing power of sexual energy. In these lineages, spiritual sexual healing practices are closely tied to the earth, the elements, and ancestral wisdom.

In various Native American spiritual systems, sexual energy could be used to heal individuals or to connect with the spirit world during ceremonial practices, as a means of achieving balance and harmony within the community and the environment.

Sangomas often work with sexual energy to balance the body’s energies, particularly when there are issues related to reproduction or emotional trauma.

In the Yoruba religion, worshipping Orishas (divine spirits), such as Oshun (the goddess of love, fertility, and sexuality) are invoked in rituals that involve sexual energy. Sexual energy is seen as sacred and life-giving, and it can be directed through ritual and dance to heal both physical and emotional ailments.

The Shipibo-Conibo, Inca and Q'ero tribes understand sexual energy as part of the broader life force that flows through all beings, and conduct ceremonies that allow the healing power of sexual energy to restore harmony within the body and spirit.

These practices are more than ancient history — they are tools for reclaiming ourselves today. Sex magick supports our present spiritual expansion and connection to ancient ancestral wisdom, to facilitate deeper connection to one's purpose and aligned evolution.

2 THE BRAIN

2.1 The Pleasure System

The body is not just a vessel — it is a map to ecstasy, a living, breathing system designed to experience and generate pleasure. Our pleasure pathways are not indulgent; they are essential to our health, our expansion, our survival in a world that often tries to disconnect us from our deepest sensations. The science of pleasure is a reminder that joy is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

The brain’s pleasure system is fueled by powerful neurotransmitters and hormones that allow us to feel deeply, connect meaningfully, and move toward our highest potential. Dopamine, that essential driver of anticipation and reward, pushes us forward, urging us toward our desires, teaching us through the repetition of pleasure to return again and again to what nourishes us.

But when dopamine systems are hijacked through addiction, for example, our ability to experience pleasure becomes distorted, trapping us in cycles of craving without fulfilment. Anhedonia, the inability to feel pleasure, is a hallmark symptom of depression and other mood disorders; while dopamine dysregulation is thought to play a role in ADHD.

Endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, remind us that we are built to heal and enjoy doing so. Whether it’s release because of the "runner’s high" or the intimate connection of a loving touch, these chemical messengers flood us with relief and euphoria, allowing us to release stress, fear, and pain. They bind to opioid receptors in the brain, which block pain signals and produce an analgesic effect similar to opioids like morphine, but without the harmful side effects! By reducing stress and promoting relaxation, they help reduce the production of cortisol, a hormone that can weaken the immune response when elevated over long periods.

And then there’s oxytocin, the love hormone. Released in moments of deep connection (sex, bonding, touch), it tells us that we are safe, that we are held, that we belong. Oxytocin isn’t just about romance; it’s about the trust that forms the basis of community, of collective healing. It is produced primarily in the hypothalamus and is then released into the bloodstream via the pituitary gland (potentially causing third eye activation). It can lower blood pressure and reduce stress-related damage, so also support the expansion of the heart-space.

Lastly, serotonin, the mood regulator. Serotonin balances us, helps us to feel at peace, calm, and content. Many antidepressants, such as Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), work by increasing the availability of serotonin in the brain to help alleviate symptoms of depression and improve mood stability.

While serotonin is more related to long-term mood regulation, it can contribute to feelings of pleasure when boosted through activities like socialising, eating, or being in nature. Serotonin helps people feel calm and secure in social settings, promoting positive social interactions and bonding.

Serotonin influences neuroplasticity, cognitive flexibility is improved as the brain is able to form new neural connections for improved cognitive performance, memory and focus. Therefore, influencing how emotional memories are processed and stored, helping individuals process past experiences with greater emotional stability. It is essential for our ability to take in the world and process it healthily. As supported by the fact that serotonin is produced primarily in the brain and the gut (about 90% of the body’s serotonin is found in the digestive system) and regulates peristalsis, the muscle contractions that move food through the digestive tract.

In sex magick, we consciously activate all these systems. We play with the natural chemistry of joy, rewiring the brain to fulfilling forms of pleasure through healing, transformation and community-building.

2.2 Temporal Connectivity

The brain is not simply a processor of thoughts and sensations — it is a dynamic, interconnected system where pleasure and purpose converge. The orbitofrontal cortex (OFC), one of the brain’s critical centres for experiencing and evaluating pleasure, works in concert with the ventral striatum to guide us toward what feels good, what is right for us, and what will sustain us.

When we experience pleasure, these areas of the brain light up, communicating with one another in a coordinated sequence that moves us from anticipation to enjoyment to reflection. This cycle of pleasure allows us to not only enjoy the present but to learn from it, to let our joyful experiences guide our future decisions. Pleasure becomes our compass, and through conscious practices like sex magick, we sharpen our ability to follow its path. This is the essence of temporal connectivity: the brain’s ability to link pleasure, memory, and action into a coherent whole, driving us toward a life of fulfilment.

Every time we allow ourselves to feel deeply, we practise self-advocacy to trust ourselves. The subconscious finds safety in moving towards the things that bring us authentic pleasure and integrating those experiences into our daily lives. In turn, we practise unapologetic self-acceptance where, to quote Existential Kink by Carolyn Elliott, “I can be in love with my whole life, even the difficult, frustrating parts. Because those parts are me too.” And naturally incline towards conscious, empowered action.

2.3 Therapies

Pleasure is a radical tool for healing, and sex magick is its most potent form. By consciously engaging with our pleasure systems, we can restore our brain’s ability to feel joy, to connect deeply, and to act with purpose.

Behavioural activation—the intentional scheduling of pleasurable activities—is a therapeutic practice that reconnects us with our joy, re-stimulating the pleasure pathways that trauma, stress, or depression may have dulled. Sex magick takes this to another level, combining physical sensation, emotional connection, and creative expression in a single, transformative practice.

Other methodologies used in sex magick include:

  • Exposure work: Gradually increasing one's comfort with being seen or being the centre of attention in safe and controlled environments.

  • Self-worth exploration: Addressing deeper issues related to self-esteem or one's belief in their value, which might underlie the discomfort with being seen.

  • Narrative therapy: Helping the individual reshape their internal stories around visibility, identity, and how they perceive others view them.

  • Embodiment work: Focusing on helping the person feel safe and present in their body, especially when they feel observed or judged.

  • Shadow work: Exploring the parts of oneself that have been repressed or hidden, often including aspects related to visibility or how one shows up in the world.

Sex magick rituals, when performed consistently, can lead to long-term changes in brain structure. Rituals help create new habits which, over time, strengthen the neural pathways involved in emotional resilience, focus, and self-discipline.

Sex magick rituals involve reflection, meditation, or prayer which have been shown to engage the brain’s default mode network (DMN). The DMN is important for fostering creativity, introspection, and a sense of identity. It also helps individuals integrate personal experiences, learn from past events, and generate new ideas by helping the brain form new associations and insights.

Likewise, it is shown to activate areas of the brain associated with emotional control, such as the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and prefrontal cortex. These regions help modulate emotional responses, making it easier for individuals to manage stress, anxiety, and depression. Regular engagement in mindful rituals can strengthen these brain areas, leading to long-term improvements in emotional regulation and performance.

Physical touch (e.g. stroking, hugging) or synchronised activities (e.g. singing, chanting, or dancing) are also involved, which promote the release of oxytocin and activate the brain’s reward system [reference 2.1]. Studies suggest that rituals involving social interaction may activate mirror neurons (specialised brain cells involved in imitation and empathy) resulting in reconnection to collective consciousness, social movements and global change.

3 MATRIARCHY

3.1 Divine Lineage

Pleasure is a pathway to this divine lineage. It’s through the conscious cultivation of sexual energy that womxn can connect to their inherent power, their deep, intuitive knowing, their ability to birth both life and worlds.

Many prehistoric societies were matriarchal and matrilineal, womxn were revered as leaders, their sexual and creative power honoured as a vital force. They played prominent roles in decision-making, leadership was not based on domination or control but on wisdom, age, and the power of reproductive capacity. The elders, often womxn, were revered for their knowledge, their connection to the rhythms of life, and their ability to guide the community through their deep understanding of the cycles of birth, death, and renewal.

Sexuality was fluid, autonomous, and inextricably linked to leadership and wisdom. There was also a strong connection between fertility and leadership, with womxn associated with life-giving powers and spiritual authority due to their role in reproduction.

Worship of goddesses found in archaeological sites from the Neolithic period points to the high status womxn. Goddesses were not just symbols of fertility but of cosmic order, agricultural cycles, and divine knowledge. Female sexuality was not seen as something to be controlled but rather as a source of creative power and life, it was a pathway to divine connection.

While Western patriarchal structures then dominated much of Europe, various indigenous and non-Western societies continued to maintain that womxn’s sexual freedom was integral to authority. In the Akan society of West Africa, inheritance and political leadership are passed through the female line, and womxn play crucial roles in governance and spiritual life. The Ashanti people of Ghana revere the Queen Mother (or Nana), who plays a significant role in the selection of the king and acts as an advisor to the community. The Iroquois of North America have clan mothers who are responsible for selecting male leaders and overseeing the welfare of the community.

3.2 Survival

The shift from egalitarian, matriarchal societies to patriarchal dominance was not inevitable; it was a deliberate restructuring of power that sought to suppress womxn’s sexual freedom and leadership. The emphasis on land, resources, private property and monotheistic religion introduced a new kind of control – control over womxn’s bodies and their reproductive power.

With the advent of agriculture, land and resources became central to survival, and the control of these resources became increasingly associated with male dominance. Property inheritance became important, so patriarchal structures emerged to ensure that lineage, particularly through male heirs, was maintained. This shift placed new restrictions on female sexual freedom, as womxn’s sexuality became more controlled to guarantee paternity and inheritance rights. Womxn’s roles became more confined to domestic spheres, and their sexual behaviour was increasingly regulated.

The narratives of Eve’s transgression in the Bible and similar stories in other religious texts reflect a broader cultural shift where womxn were symbols of temptation and moral downfall. Female sexuality was viewed as dangerous, sinful, or in need of control. The survival of this system relied on the demonisation of female leaders, healers, and priestesses, culminating in the witch hunts of medieval Europe.

Womxn’s sexual pleasure became devalued or suppressed in many societies, leading to a detachment from their bodies and desires. Today, as we reclaim our pleasure through practices like sex magick, we are reclaiming that lineage, that divine right to lead.

3.3 Autonomy

Sexual autonomy is a radical act of reclamation, and it begins with the body. When womxn reclaim their pleasure, they reclaim their power. They reclaim the knowledge that their bodies are not sites of shame or control but of creativity, intuition, and deep wisdom. The vagina, often relegated to shame and silence, becomes a gateway to self-empowerment, a bridge between the physical and the spiritual, between the self and the divine. To quote Vagina by Naomi Wolf, "the vagina is not just flesh, it’s a part of the female consciousness."

Through the practice of sex magick, womxn begin to consciously cultivate their sexual energy, tapping into the biological and energetic channels that connect the brain and the vagina. Neural pathways between them play a crucial role in shaping a woman's emotional and psychological state. The pleasure and satisfaction a woman experiences through her vagina – whether through sexual, emotional, or intellectual stimulation – can enhance her feelings of self-worth, vitality, and creativity.

Developing a conscious and intentional relationship with sexuality is therefore essential for a fuller expression of self. For many womxn, reclaiming their sexual agency involves understanding and articulating their desires, while breaking free from cultural scripts that limit their sexual expression. They begin to define their own experiences of pleasure, on their own terms.

Conversely, sexual trauma, shame, or disempowerment can lead to diminished confidence, creativity, and emotional well-being. When we practise sex magick, we access a state of deep pleasure which enables the body to release trauma by relaxing the nervous system and activating healing mechanisms that allow stored tension and emotional pain to surface and dissolve.

While developing sexual autonomy through sex magick, we learn that we can be open to receiving energy so, equally, we learn how to create boundaries necessary to block the birth of unwanted or harmful energies. Our self-protection mechanisms are directed by abundance, rather than silencing, and designed for the expression of our fullest desires, through self advocating.

Ownership of sexuality is both a personal and political act. By reclaiming sexuality, womxn can disrupt the historical and ongoing efforts to control their bodies, allowing them to access deeper levels of personal power and confidence. Sex magick becomes a vehicle for this liberation, to birth new realities not just for themselves but for the collective.

4 PLEASURE ACTIVISM

4.1 Pleasure Decolonisation

Pleasure in itself is a rebellious act. In a society built on capitalism, patriarchy, and colonialism, where bodies (especially black, brown, queer, and femme bodies) are commodified, to claim pleasure is to reclaim power. Liberating pleasure simultaneously liberates body-positivity, sex-positivity, monogamy, healthcare, education etc. and actively create a kinder, more intimate, softer world. A thriving world.

Decolonisation begins with the understanding that pleasure – in its value and form – has been colonised, policed, regulated, and stripped away by systems that benefit from our numbness. Decolonising pleasure means redefining what feels good on our own terms, rooted in authenticity rather than the narratives imposed on us, invested in the sensuality of all things.

As Audre Lorde taught us, "the erotic is a source of power." When we embrace the fullness of our erotic energy, we access something deep and transformative, that connects us to others and the world. Pleasure is not frivolous; it is sacred. In this process, we also come to understand our interconnectedness with all living beings. Pleasure opens the heartspace, expanding our capacity for empathy, compassion, and awareness. We begin to recognize that the liberation of one is tied to the liberation of all, including the animals and Mother Earth. And the more we connect to our own pleasure, the more we become attuned to the suffering of others, and the more we are called to take action. In this heightened state of connection, we reject speciesism and embrace a vegan lifestyle as an extension of this compassionate awareness.

Decolonizing pleasure also means embracing rest, against the capitalist idea that our worth is tied to productivity. Not only have our bodies been commodified and dehumanised, but so has our creativity, energy and expansion. Reclaiming rest is an act of defiance against the relentless demands of capitalism, particularly for those whose labour has been historically extracted. In rest and recovery, art and creative expression become more accessible and allow for empathetic development, which is vital to the broader struggle for justice and freedom.

Adrienne Maree Brown says, "our movements must be healing and irresistible", which I interpret as: my actions will not be bullied into versions which are any less than what I whole-heartedly desire.

Brown also teaches that our movements for justice should centre joy, healing, and connection. Pleasure is not a distraction from the struggle; it is essential to sustaining it. When we embrace pleasure, we strengthen our resilience, deepen our connections, and build movements that are sustainable. Our activism becomes an expression of love for ourselves, for each other, and for the world.

4.2 Self Healing

Pleasure is the body’s natural healer. By engaging in sex magick, we pump life force energy around the body which releases the bliss molecule (DMT) in the brain that permanently rewires the brain, allows us to access altered states of consciousness and activates the body’s natural healing mechanisms (which manifests in biohacking body, calming the mind and expanding the spirit).

Sex magick is especially impactful to release trauma. Trauma reinforces negative neural patterns linked to fear, pain, or dissociation. And can directly come from repressed sexual energy, aka blocked life force flow. When someone feels safe enough to experience pleasure, their body can shift from a state of fight-or-flight to a state of rest and repair. This shift allows for the release of tension and suppressed emotions.

While positive pleasurable experiences create new neural pathways that reinforce safety, trust, and emotional balance. When practised over time, accessing pleasure can contribute to long-term recovery from trauma by building resilience and promoting an empowered sense of well-being.

Sex magick encourages the free flow of life force flow so your ‘default’ state is one of vibrance and abundance; you become more grateful and release dependencies on vacant sources of pleasure. Decision making towards your wellbeing becomes intuitive and your desires gravitate towards life-giving activities, which further enhance your health.

4.3 Turned On Performance

Pleasure activism enhances relaxation, sleep, cognitive function, memory, focus, energy levels, vitality and youthfulness. But its healing doesn’t stop there…

Sexual arousal increases blood flow to the brain, particularly to the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for critical thinking, planning, and decision-making. In this state, we are able to think more clearly, solve problems more effectively, and make decisions that are aligned with our values. It can even lead to flow state where our creative output exceeds our physical perceived limitations.

When we channel sexual energy upward through the body’s energy centres we open up pathways to heightened intuition. The intuition shows us what we authentically desire, how to give genuine consent and how to trust our turn-on. This helps reduce distractions, allowing for decisions that are aligned with fulfilment and values, rather than immediate lust.

Pleasure becomes the source of our most brilliant ideas, our most daring actions, our most profound contributions. When we are turned on, we are unstoppable. Life force energy has the power to birth into existence. Pumping sexual energy around the body and accessing pleasure states with intention, allows us to ‘magickally’ grow intentions into the physical reality. Sex magick can be used as a means of manifestation, that when developed over time can instantly quantum leap us to new timelines, download astral codes and release parasitic energy blocks.

To conclude, harnessing and transmuting sexual energy becomes a catalyst for both personal empowerment and global transformation. Womxn must explore sex magick as an essential transformation code for Nu Earth consciousness. The pleasure dimension is cumming.
